Guinea-Bissau's Distinct Aim for Food

Guinea-Bissau's main aim is to become self-sufficient in food. Since their country is one of the poorest in the world, the government focuses on how to improve their source of food. Agriculture plays a big part on their economy. The main crops grown by farmers are rice, groundnuts, cassava, sugar cane, plantains, maize and coconuts. Fishing industry is also an important source of their food and income. But Guinea-Bissau's principal export product is cashew nuts.
